Default Google Toolbar

I'm just in preseason and I have a Q. In the Google Reader Video ( the 2nd or 3rd) Ed talks about setting up a Google account and checking "Google History".
Anyway my Q is concerning the Google Toolbar. I'm not clear from the Video if he was saying that it should be downloaded. Or if checking "Web History" is enough.
Which leads me to another problem with the Flock browser:
I checked on the history page to install the Google toolbar now I have a problem with the browser at start-up:

Flock at startup

I'm having trouble at start-up.
I selected Web History on Google and selected load the Google Tool bar to download(which I really don't want).
Now, every time I startup Flock I get these messages:
1.) "This extension is not secure
The extension Google Tool bar for Firefox 3.1 20080730W is known to be dangerous, and can't be installed."
Then, when I click OK on that I get this message:
2.)"Google Web History Installer needs to restart Firefox to complete the installation
Restart Now Restart Later"

I have to click "Later" so I can use the Browser.
HOW to I get rid of this Maddening Loop (as well as Google Toolbar Installation). Thanks

Somebody at flock said it might be because I don't have the Beta installed ?
If I download the beta will I lose all my extensions and RSS in the Reader ....?

Flock V. I have is 1.2.4. The beta is 2.0 ? Thanks.

Hey LB7,

Google Toolbar will work in the Flock 2 beta, though you may need to wait 24 hours after installing for it to start working (I'll skip the technical explanation unless you'd like to know).

Moving to Flock 2 will not lose any of your feeds, favorites, history etc. That said, it's always good to back up with a beta. You can find instructions on backing up your Flock profile at Flock Browser - FAQs | Flock.

Thanks for your answer. I will follow your instructions.
As far as my other Q:

Does anybody know in the appropriate Google Reader instructional video where Ed talks about checking Web History when opening a Google Account. It wasn't clear to me if he was instructing people to download the Google Toolbar OR if that wasn't necessary. Does anybody know ? Thanks.

(I'm posting in both places on the Flock Message Board and on 30dc.)

For the PC:
What do I do. Drag the Folder called "Profiles" to the Desktop ?
And if the upgrade does affect my setting, what do I do with the Profiles folder
to get my settings to the way they were after I install the Beta ? Thanks

The Mac:
I can't find the Flock Folder on my Mac. It's not in the "Application Support"Folder as described in the Floc FAQ.
OS 10.3.9.Thanks.
