Brad,

Welcome to the Team!

Please do check out the rules and procedures (listed in the
first post of this thread) if you have not already done so.

The moderators are VERY strict about signatures and post
content. Have a look at Caro's signature (Caro is the author
of the rules).

Best Regards,
Charles

OK take 2!

G'day from an Aussie living in Canada!

I'm an IT project manager recently turned entrepreneur - started my own business motivating and helping people push through their barriers to achieve results in all aspects of their lives (I'm a certified NLP coach and trainer).

I did the 30DC in 2008 and made a few dollars. This year I aim to learn more and improve on my past result. I want to be generating substantial income from online businesses/websites using the strategies being taught.

I feel my strengths are with WP blogs (I've set up two of my own on paid hosting), affiliate marketing (well the concept of it anyway), twitter and facebook. I definitely require a better understanding of ways to generate organic traffic and improving search engine ranking.

Ok it's time to find a micro-niche, or two

Looking forward to sharing and learning with the team!

- Anf

Because you will get updates about something you didn't care about,
Ex. you are person who didn't like sport, not follow sport games ... but someone that follows you on twitter wrote updates about sport matches, and if you follow him you will getting his updates about sport games.

nikola_japan - I think there are many ways to approach Twitter. You can use it to follow and read others, use it to be followed and read by others, or both. I look at Twitter as both a relationship building tool as well as a communication and marketing gateway.

My emphasis is reaching others with my message which includes a mix of branding messages (I'm the brand), information and tidbits on Social Media/Networking plus links to articles or posts in my two blogs. I try to post several times a day with a balance between the three various groups I market to or aim for presence in.

Twitter is one of the three legs on my social media stool, along with Linkedin and Facebook, that I spend time on every day.

I have focused my followers into two categories based on my two blogs. The first is aimed at people looking to re-career or find a job, the second is recruiting and staffing professionals. I have roughly 4,500 followers equally split between these two areas with a sprinkling of social media typesin the mix. I follow roughly 3,800 people including a number of people involved in thought leadership involving social media and networking along with recruiting, staffing and career professionals. The three areas are pretty evenly split.

With careful filtering (using Seesmic) I can handle the message load and typically only read those posting in categories or by people that fit my strategy as well as direct and mention posts. I only have one Twitter account but am looking at adding additional accounts - each with a narrow focus on my markets of recruitment, careers and social media.

This is going to be a great learning experience for all of us and I'm looking forward to seeing how things unfold. Thank you for starting it Charles.

Hi,
I have been doing the 30dc for a couple of years now and am looking to join a team, I have another girl I worked with last year who will be coming with me, she is great at writing and has set up an online business in the last year.
Would it be possible for us both to join the 30dc marketers Charles?
