Folks > It is better late than never so I'm reembarking on my search for a team. 3 or 4 would be ideal.
I have a fulltime job and I have been making money part-time on the Internet but would like to take IM to the next level i.e. fulltime. The skills I bring to the table are the following: - Web design and development (particularly WordPress and Joomla) - AdSense and other contextual advertising engines (I have been making money consistently via AdSense on a part-time basis) - Search Engine Optimization. Please message me if you are interested in forming a team with a brief background (no experience required, desire to learn and share is a must). I'm sure we all will learn from the challenge as well as from each other. --------------------------------------------------------------- Blog - www.kuzzuk.net/weblog |

My previous experience is in the "real" world as a real estate "developer" Inverstor;project manager...mortgage broker/real estate agent...ran my mother's pet grooming/pet accessory shop for many years and ran my father's veterinary clinic for many years;worked as an escrow agent for 2+ years as well... my goal right now is to build at least (2) websites ; one for the lakefront property I had developed and has been on the market for over a year and the other ... well that is where I am stumped... have no one to bounce ideas off of and am completely self driven and motivated to accomplish my goals... Would relish the opportunity to work with others that are like minded and enjoy all learning... Look forward to hearing back from someone... not really sure how the forum situation works... Most Sincerely, Tanya A Chadwick

Again, I'm writing more for myself than anyone, but they say in real estate it's all about location, location, location. Well, in IM it's all about FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS. I'm also a newbie to Internet Marketing, so if you have any questions, I already told you everything I am certain of. Everything else is just a best guess!! Anyway, if you're still looking to work with a team, maybe we get one started...? |

@dipankar, @doctorlurv - The core Samurai team was in Singapore and Malaysia around this time last year (around the time of the big Merdeka celebrations). Still dream about the Lau Pa Sat satays, the incredible Roti Prata out in Jalan Kayu, the chilli crab, kopi and kaya in the mornings, ice-cream in bread in the afternoons - and walking all of those calories off at Sim Lim Square at all the gadget stores.
If you can think of an excuse for us to head back (perhaps an internet marketing conference that's being run or something) we'll be back in a flash ![]() @Tanya - you mentioned that you were having trouble with Market Samurai. Is it a technical problem, or a problem understanding strategy (i.e. keyword selection). If it's technical, let the Samurai team know and we'll do the best to help you. If it's strategy, ask away on the forums - people here will fall over themselves just to help you. It's a lovely community here. Brent Last edited by BrentH : 09-24-2008 at 11:14 AM. |

Thank you for the response in the forum. With regard to Market Samurai, it is more a question of a "checklist" maybe that I am hoping for. I did put in my "keywords" just as in the example of vintage guitars. Being a person who has gone from "real" world (for lack of knowing what the pc phrase is) experience and jumped into the internet, I have had to learn things that our children of today take for granted...no excuses, just facts about my drive to go into a world that is completely new to me...that being said, I believe I have a good understanding of what "keywords" means (background in Marketing) and certainly my studies with regard to subject specific on a very broad scope... I am just genuinely not sure how to analyze the info or what decisions to make based on what Market Samurai tells me... I have "studied" it and pondered it and stared at the screens forever, talk about a mental block I guess, and I even home schooled my children (meaning I should be able to figure out how to re-focus) ...just plain stumped and I feel certain that it has got to be one simple something that will just pop if only I had some step by step guideline to explain what each means and how to chose. Did I go through the tutorials too quickly? Did I miss something maybe in being so excited to purchase, that I jumped forward? I am sincerely in hopes this is a quick fix for me as I certainly can appreciate the value of Market Samurai. If this is something you may be able to address for me, I would be honored to hear back from you. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my first query and I look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. Most Sincerely, Tanya A Chadwick

Hi Tanya,
I hope I can help you here ![]() Firstly, let's start with "Keywords" A Keyword is a phrase that somebody might type into a search engine (like Google) when they're looking for something. It's a bit deceptive - although it's a "keyWORD" it can be several words long. You can also call it a "Search Term", "Keyword Term", "Keyword Phrase", "Search Phrase", "Search String", "Keyword String" etc... When it comes to strategy, the first thing that we're looking for when we're doing our keyword research is a keyword that:
High traffic means the keyword has a lot of people searching for it. Few competitors means that few web-sites mention that keyword. The criteria for this is in Day 2 of the 30 Day Challenge training. We're looking for keywords that have a figure of 80 or greater in the "SEOT" column (high traffic)... And a figure of less than 30,000 in the "SEOC" column (this tells us that there are few competitors) GuruBob created a series of amazing videos about using Market Samurai. They are absolutely worth watching. To find them, click on "Training" at the top of this page... Then log in... Then click on Day 2 (with the Market Samurai icon) for Day 2's training. The following days have Market Samurai training...
You'll see links to the videos on the right hand side beside Ed's video on the page. I hope this helps you out Brent |
