Default Reminiscent of Childhood Angst

Why do I feel like I'm back in the 3rd grade and everyone else got picked for a team but me?

Just got back from vacation so I'm behind.

I've read not even halfway through the myriad relevant posts (locations, age, etc. that fit me or I fit them) and I must admit I'm discouraged. After wading through so many posts only to discover that the teams are full and feeling very much as though I'm at a distinct disadvantage to everyone, even though August 1 isn't even here yet, I am despairing of ever getting started.

I'll be 58 on Sunday. Based in central OH. I'm a performer, writer, and computer junkie. Essentially unemployed so time zone not an issue. Have been studying Internet Marketing for 2 years but haven't been able to put all the pieces together completely. Have an ebook ready to go online. Some web pages done.

But I always seem to come up against a wall just when I THINK I'm ready to go live. Thankfully this isn't just about me. It's about a team. Woowhoo!

Looking for healthy mix of teammates. Baby Boomers welcome and encouraged. One person from prior 30-day challenge would be ideal. Web design experience? Great. Marketing savvy? Terrific. Total newbie? Come on down! Somewhere in the middle? There's a spot here for you, too.

Any takers to joining me?

Deb (Dwriter)

Thumbs up I want to join your team

Hi, Deb!

My name is Paulo Roldan, from Mexico. I'm a complete IM newbie, but that doen't stop me from becoming a part of this challenge. I'd like to join your team (coolest name ever!). I have a passion for writing and one of my goals is becoming a professional web (not only copy) writer.

I own an extensive collection of IM courses and ebooks that I haven't used, to tell you the truth. By joining the 30DC 2007 I'm looking forward to beating procrastination once and for all!

Don't let yourself get intimidated by teams with experienced members. We all have to start somewhere!

Talking In the same boat . . . ready to sail

Hi Deb.

Feeling the same as you in many ways. Out of town for a wedding, now scrambling to catch up; including trying to find a team to join.

I'm a newbie to internet marketing, looking for a way to develop an additional income stream. At 50, I'm a boomer. I work in communications at a community college in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada - Mountain Time zone. Ideally, I'd love to quit working for someone else in the next couple of years and just do my own thing.

Have you filled your team yet?

Cool I would love to join your team!

Hi Deb,

When I read that they were going to make teams this weekend I thought I was going to be left out also because my weekend was already full, and no time for me to get a quick post in. So I loved your post - and thought we could work together.
I'm a total newbie, but I've been toying with the idea of starting an estore, and I think the 30 day challenge will help me greatly. I really stumbled upon this whole thing when researching. In the past I thought of trying ebooks, and have several ideas from my own experiences, so I like that you are creative.
I live in California, so I'm probably 2 hours behind you. I do have a full house though and work around everyone else's schedules, so the time zone won't matter to me.
Also, a shout out to Paulo - my oldest son is leaving in a few weeks to live in Merida- and the Yucatan Peninsula -for 2 years. Thanks, Gail

Thumbs up Thank you!

Thanks for the invitation. Actually I've had 3 people ask to join me, so if we can get at least one more person, hopefully with some experience, we're good to go. Thank you again for the offer.

Thumbs up Frosty!

Hey, welcome to the team. Glad to have you. Looks like we have a fairly inexperienced group, but I think the point is to give one another mutual support and encouragement, more than "teaching" one another what to do (IMHO). We've got a team!

Thanks,

Deb

Cool Here's our team list

Hey everyone!

Here are the names I have for our team:

dwriter
derekbly
dj1 (maybe)
frostyl
gail6
proldani

dj1 contacted derek in one of his posts, so we're waiting to see if he's still interested in being a part of our group. He's experienced, which could be a good thing for a team with so many newbies.

But hey, we're all "grups" here. (If you don't know what grups are, it's a corruption of the word grownups, from an episode of the original Star Trek series where children grew up without parents on a planet that made people go mad and then killed them after puberty's onset.) That was your trivia message of the day.

Kids may rule, but they're not the only ones in school. We're also cool!

Deb

OK Deb, you hooked me with 'grups.' I loved Kim Darby and Michael J. Pollard in their guest appearances in that episode: Miri, I think it was called.

So why not call our group The Grups?
