Yep - we're on for Saturday morning - 6/28/2008 - 9AM PST - same time as last week - (9AM GMT-7)

I'll get logged into Skype a few minutes ahead of time and start inviting people to conference. Let's try to keep our call to about an hour, if possible.

If anyone has any ideas or topics they want to cover - let me know...

We can use the forum for that info - or just send me an e-mail - if I did this right, there'll be a signature with links below....

Hey guys - just an update on the blog Stephen and I have been working on the last couple of weeks.

I just checked and on Google, we currently rank at #18 and #19 out of over 91,000 competing pages for the (exact match) term "thirty day challenge." I haven't done any back linking or tried to promote it in any way. Mostly because I want to get caught up and stay on top of all the posts. Blogging takes a bit of time - but I'm getting my system smoothed out and will probably turn that into a post one of these days...

Speaking of posts - last night, I posted an entry and I swear - Google had picked it up and was displaying the description from that post in their search results 40 minutes later. I also got a Google Alert about 5 hours later.

Now, it's not ever going to be a money maker - my goal is to get better at blogging and teach Stephen how to do it too. If it is helpful and provides useful content for others to benefit from, well - that's a bonus.

Anyhow, that was pretty exciting for me and I thought I'd let you know...

We still have to finalize on a team name - I'm kind of leaving it up to Stephen to make the final decision - but we're continuing to brainstorm. We'll have some time tonight...

I do have 1 tip that all bloggers should keep in mind - Where is the name of the owner & poster of the blog?
Come on guys put your name on that great piece of work. You want people to associate your name with great info! Everyone can tell that you have put a huge amount of work into your post - now you want them to know that Steve and Stephen did that just for them.

I sign everything.
I was told by many that I was arrogant thinking that I should put my name on post.... Hey, if I said it & signed my name to it then - I stand behind it.
Yes, I have been wrong & had to eat a bit a crow because I posted & signed but, that is OK, not the 1st time I made a mistake. LOL!
I personally find people to be more creditable if they have what I believe is a real name On their post, blog.....
Start branding yourself & your name as a responsible, informative, caring,...person.
OK, in my case I am know as a bit ranting & sarcastic but, it comes naturally. LOL!

I'll do some more tweaking to our little blog experiment over the weekend and at least put our first names on our posts. I'm a little bit concerned about privacy issues and the use of our last name - particularly for Stephen. He is just 10 after all. But maybe I'm not seeing the big picture...

I'm absolutely open to feedback from anyone on that issue...if I need to be straightened out - let me know...

In the meantime - I figure it's a work in progress and if I focus at least 80% on making the content great - I can gradually take care of the other 20% of the details to make a great thing even better.

On the topic of potential team name, Stephen seems to really like:

The SonicXtreme Team - it's a word play on one of his favorite video games and he likes the rhyme on the back end.

Let's plan on a Skype call at GMT -7 Saturday - but I have to keep it kind of short, we're going camping afterward...

Wow Steve, you have done a great job on your blog! One comment, and maybe it's just me, but I just can't read blogs that are on a black background. Would suggest you change to dark type on a light background.

To Sheryl - I made some changes to our "thirty day challenge" blog over the weekend - AND included our names in an "about" panel right at the top/right. When you have a few moments, please have a look and let me know what you think.

Along those same lines - I really liked the way the original theme looked. To me, it was visually striking - with the dark background, white text and blue headlines. BUT, I also realize - it's not about me.

I've heard before about colors and readability and so - I picked another theme. Thank you - FernHill - for the suggestion - I hope it's easier to read and will be more useful to others as a result.

Just to let you know that freekeywords was not working properly at the weekend - the stats we discussed are inaccurate so don't go building your empire on them! We checked some of the stats and Sheryl searched the forums - there were comments referring to the problem.

Great job Steve & Stephen. I am so glad you now have a name! LOL!!

I agree that sometimes the dark backgrounds look super cool but are also very hard to read. I know that on a splash type page it is not such a big deal if you have large text and not an article.

I have a feeling that it will not be long untill Ed pulls out some more relyable tools.

Ok, I am off to do a bit of promoting for a local boy here (see my sig line). No, I do not personally know him but, I think it is something that would be great to do. Hey, a kid with a smile is always great! LOL!
I already got a couple of bigger companies here in Vegas to help & I sent letters to the Busch Brothers that drive NASCAR and ask for help. I still have so much to do, better get to it. I am now aiming for the online business people! I'll be Tweeting it!!
