Default The Geek Guy - Me

Hi, I'm Ryan. My blog is located at a subdomain named "ryan" at the domain "lyoko" of the tld "us". Also known as: Geek Guy. Geek Guy is the name of it. I also have a forums system at Geek Speek called Geek Speek, although you don't need to be a geek to go there
Yes, I'm a geek (and proud of it ). I know a lot about computers and almost felt like I shouldn't watch the videos and that I should just signup on the services right away. I also like creating websites.

So Long

Default PreSeason: Installing Add Ons, Part 3

In the Installing Add Ons Training Page, most of the recommended Add Ons are listed on a PDF download that my son was unable to load, and there is a separate link to Piciens. Anyway, here are the download links:

Piciens - This gives you cool image and video viewing options. Full Screen, 3D.

Google Global - This allows you to customize your Google searches to filter for location.

Google Notebook - Get a notebook on your bottom toolbar.

SEO Tools - This is for marketing stuff we'll learn about later.

Search Status - Shows website ranks right on your toolbar.

StumbleUpon - Sets up StumbleUpon on your toolbar.

TwitterBar - Sets up a TINY link in your address bar that allows you to post to Twitter directly from your address bar.

Okay, I figured out that my problem with the videos is that I was looking at the 30 Day Challenge shows, not the training videos.

Instead of looking at the big video in the center, the necessary training videos are on the right column.

My 8-year-old son is getting a good start on promoting his blog. Today, in an impromptu Albany, NY Channel 10 News Interview - where they were asking families to comment on the Governor's stance on the recession - he asked the reported if he could "put in a plug for his blog." They actually took down all his information. Now, we'll see what happens.

Default Digital Natives Have a Room on FriendFeed

Hi!

I'm a Mommy Blogger working on this challenge with a group of kids, not all of whom are mine.

I've set up a FriendFeed room for Digital Natives. This is open to all kids, Tweens, Teens, and their families who are participating in The 30 Day Challenge.

It's really neat to see how much energy the kids are bringing to this program, and I can't wait to see what happens tonight! Those of us in New York will be having a launch party with soda & chips (I'm told that's all we need to PARTY!)

We may, or may not, make any money. But, we will have FUN!

See you around the block!

The Digital Natives have started brainstorming niche ideas for Teens. So far on the list we have: any of 100+ Virtual Worlds; Wii; Skateboarding; Scouting; Star Wars; Rock Climbing; Snow Boarding; Skiing; Pokemon; Humor; Spying; Teen Life; Cafeteria Food. Anything else?

If you have any suggestions, please reply or visit the Digital Natives FriendFeed Room.

Hey all, I'd like to join, but I might not fit I just thought having someone in the group between the age groups would be a good idea. You can say no, you won't hurt my feelings .

I'm 25.
I got my BS in computer science and eng. from a Major University in Michigan
I'm doing my MS in Biomedical Engineering at the other Major University in Michigan (the rival of the first )
I don't start school till Sept. 2nd so I have time.

In terms of computer background I have experience in (probably only for the geeks in the group)
C++ , C , C# , HTML , ASP.NET ,Assembly (Worst 6 months of my life) ,
VB.NET , True Basic (long time ago) , PHP , MYSQL, Ruby on Rails, APACHE, DRUPAL, All of googles stuff... and so on.

In HS I used to have LAN parties. I would list my gaming experience but I could go on for days. Anyway let me know. I also have a few cousins between the ages of 8 and 15 so I have some good ideas.

~Chad

P.S. Even if you guys do say no, just to add to your list brainstorming list: Card games (Magic and the like) , D&D (Table top gaming true geeks only ), you said Star Wars this opens the MMOs (WoW, SWG, City of Heros/Villans etc) along with the real life sims (There, Second Life, etc), Webkinz (Cousin loves em), General Sports (training, equipment), Computer security (to protect tweens/teens).

I have a few more but I'll leave it at that
