Default Woohoo first sale!

Woohoo first sale from my blog on 9 Sept. Better late than never eh?

The traffic has not been huge, only a handful of people per day. I did mess up with tags at the beginning because I didn't put the underscore between the keywords in the phrase, so that didn't help me get off to a good start.

I must admit I've left it alone for a week. Most traffic is coming from SEO and my ezine article.

#11 on Google with ezine article
Blog is about #75

243 pageviews
23 CTR to product
1 sale
4.35% conversion

Now I need to think if it's worth pursuing. It's not a great conversion. Change the affiliate product, more content, more links I guess.

Actually the sales conversion rate is ok. 1 in 23 people buying when they get to the actual sales page isn't too shoddy. You now need to increase traffic to the blog and test your offer. See if you can improve the click throughs on the offer to the money page. Then, when you have higher numbers you can see whether the affiliate product is selling consistently or whether you need to test a new one.

Thanks Lisa. Yes, you're right it's not too shoddy is it! I think the problem is lack of traffic - rather than changing the affiliate product.

Bill, maybe you and I chose a keyword phrase that'll take a bit more work to get traffic - more links and more content needed.

Thanks for your comments.

We're the keyword categories supposed to be underscored? I must have missed that.
Anyway, congratulations :-)
