Default Impressive Learning Tool

I have spent countless hours trying to learn how to sell products, write a profitable blog, and make money off the internet. And after all that searching I wish I had found this site so much sooner. Because I had attempted to make several profitable sites I knew I was doing something wrong, I just didn't know what. And of course no one is going to tell you - until I found this site. Thank you, thank you, thank you - it is all making a ton of sense now.

However I had problems with Market Samurai and Wordpress Direct. Market Samurai was acting odd last night - every time I kept removing a term it kept putting it back. So I did things the "manual" way through Google. Honestly I am glad that happened because I learned a lot more doing things that way.

Wordpress gave me a lot of odd issues with the templates. I attempted to find the answer but couldn't - does anyone know if you can alter the html code of the template? I found several designs I liked but wanted to tweek it and could not figure out how. And my font link colors would not change to what I wanted. I found a template that eventually worked but does anyone have suggestions? Has anyone else had issues like this?

I just posted my site to social bookmarks - now I have to play the waiting game and keep going with the challenge!

You're right - that IS odd...

What was the process that you used to remove terms? (There are a few ways to remove them)

Default Market Samurai

I followed the instructions in the training exactly as described using both methods to remove keywords I didn't want to include. Either it didn't remove the keyword when I selected the term or removed the phrase completely and then put it back when I pressed analyze keywords. I had used Market Samurai the day before and did the same steps and had no problem.

Hrm - interesting.

So you clicked the boxes marked [x] to remove keywords - and they came back?

If you spot it again, let me know. I'd be interested to hear about this. I haven't come across it before, and obviously we like to solve any problems as soon as possible.

Thanks

Brent

Default New glitch

The issue I mentioned before seems to be resolved when I accepted the upgrade. I can now remove keywords without a problem. But now there is a new issue. When I run everything through the organic filter and adwords analysis everything goes as it should.Once I add the SEO Competition and press analyze my search value and SEOT decrease, and according to the training - that shouldn't happen. And when I add in OCI searches and SEOT decrease even more - and it eliminates all the generated keywords. I know what I am getting back is wrong based on the training transcripts and what I have noticed by the traffic I am getting off a general article I have written which led to the discovery of this niche. I am going to send a note to technical support for Market Samurai as well about this issue.

Hi mythicalphoenix,

These are all very odd issues.

Are you running a 64 bit installation of Windows Vista?

We've noticed that Vista can cause a lot of weird problems - the solution to these is to run Market Samurai in "Compatibility Mode" (a Windows Vista 64-bit setting).

If you're NOT running Vista 64, could I trouble you to take a short Jing video demonstrating the problem so that I can show the development team precisely what you see - so that they can see it with their own eyes (and believe me when I tell them ).

You're absolutely right - this shouldn't happen. So I want to make sure that any issues get solved ASAP.

Hi mythicalphoenix,

You can edit your template in Wordpress by going to the admin area, then design, and then theme editor. I was able to make changes to my template by editing it here. I would suggest copying the section you are going to be editing and pasting it into notepad before making any changes. This way if you make a change you do not like, you will be able to paste the code back into the theme editor.

Also, I only made one change at a time and checked it before moving on to the next change. Good luck with making your changes.

Default Not using Vista

The bad news is I am not running Vista - the good news is I am more than willing to make the video to show you what I am seeing. Just tell me what I need to do. Thanks for all your help

Hello mythicalphoenix,

Through WPD, you do have FTP access to the files, so should you need to make changes there, you can. I will point out that if you make changes in such a way, that the WPD team does not provide support should things go wrong.

I did not mean to confuse things. I was speaking of editing the template in WordPress, not WordPress Direct. I am using WordPress from Hostgator's cpanel. I decided not to use WPD because I did not want the extra expense of WPD and I already had an account with Hostgator. I am slowly learning how to edit the template there.
