Talking A good news email to my team!

Here is an email I sent to my team that I wanted to also post here. There are certain words that are removed to protect my niche.

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know how things were going for me. I recently switched over from a subdomain to a self-hosting site, so my stats are a little low because I started on May 01, 2009, but I am doing all the steps in 30DC as well as some extra things outside of 30DC to bring my stats back up. All of these stats are from the new site.

I checked out my ranking on Google for the keyword, XXXXXXXXXX. According to what I found I have some work to do. I am on Page #3, 221st position.

However, some good news, on analytics I have 54 Visits, 126 Page views, 2.33 Pages/Visit, 50.00% Bounce Rate, 00:02:58 Avg. Time on Site, and 66.67% New Visits.

On site indexing for XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, I have a total of 82 sites indexed. Mostly for keywords and my blog pages.

I have two subscribers on my email list that I created at aweber and that I just put up four days ago. One from the U.K., who has not yet confirmed, but I am still hoping, and one here in my hometown, who has confirmed.

There are four comments on various blogs and six pingbacks/trackbacks. One specifically to a German website that was a joint specialist.

I have only $3.07 in referral fees, since October, but the interesting thing is that the ones who bought cookbooks from my site didn’t actually buy the cookbooks I have reviewed or are advertising on the site.

I have three main competitors that I have actually found, but they seem to be doing a little under the weather. One is doing video, but none of the videos are of the owner of the website. One is doing diabetic recipes along with diabetic cookbooks, but their recipes are very disorganized, some to the point of being unreadable or confusing, and there are no reviews of the cookbooks. One is selling the diabetic cookbooks like I am doing, but again, no reviews and no advertising of the cookbooks even on their site.

On a side note, I decided to do a little test. I created a one page newsletter and posted a small amount of them at different doctors and specialists offices. That was about a week and a half ago. Now all of the newsletters I put out are gone. My specific traffic for my hometown was larger than other portions of the map overlay in analytics. Unfortunately for me, I can’t replace them right now, but it seems the testing went very well.

Just wanted to touch base and let you know how my website is now doing. Well bye for now.

Hope all of your sites are doing excellent as well.
