Hi all,
Just thought I would throw this post out there for all those doing a thirty day challenge.
Ive been doing the challenge for the past year now with no actual luck on getting my blog ranked in google. I have had a little luck here and there but nothing like what i experienced today.

I started out doing the challenge last year and me being me thought I could cut corners and maybe even try and get things going faster by doing say 5 links a day. And I never had any luck really.

Well 2 days ago I decided to do this again from scratch and do it like ed, dan and the team said. I followed them word for word. And I have done it the free version. I have not brought a domain name and i have taken the free version of wordpress direct.

I did a whole day of keyword research and came up with 10 top keywords. I found 1 very good keyword which i decided to use.
Another site i used to get my keywords was Google Insights

The keyword I will not give but here are Market Samari's stats:
Daily Searches - 4438
SEO Comp - 37300

So using this keyword I did exactly what they said and my blog went live 2 days ago. I created a squidoo page and have done 2 links per day from very relevant sites in squidoo and hubpages.

And today after doing a search in google on my keyword I found myself at Number 1 spot.

Im very happy with the results and thought that i would put this out there for those who are not getting any results.

It can happen and as long as your not cutting corners and follow the step by step procedure then it should happen. Keyword research is paramount.

So now I am getting traffic to my site. Today I have had 819 visits so far. So now it is a waiting game for sales. I havn't checked yet and i dont want to jinx it so ive decided to give it a week before i check.

My next stage is creating a hubpage but i will carry on doing 2 links per day.

I am achieving similar results in my niche doing what the 30 DC says. I am on the 1st page of Google for 4 sites with 1 of those at number 1. I never thought I could do it myself before the 30dc

I just checked today and I"m 4th in organic search result after 5 days with my keywords. Haha!
I'm not even finished the challenge yet! This is very cool

a lot of this also depends on the current conversation of the keywords if you know what I mean.. if the topic (keywords) is hot then it's harder to rank for them whereas if the topic aint so hot then the keywords are easier to rank for as less new content is being posted regarding those keywords..

Now that I'm a few more weeks into this thing, my ranking has stayed the same but my traffic number have increased. Still not huge numbers, but I've also not shelled out for PPC ads yet.

The interesting part is that on average 80% of my traffic is from Search Engines but Google makes up 60% of that (less than I would expect). Bing has made it to the 3rd spot behind Yahoo.
