Default Success on the Internet, and a heart filled with gratitude to you all!

Hey guys, hope your all doing well.

I just want to let you all know, that since doing the challenge about a month ago, I have finally had success online!

One of my blogs I have built with the 30DC method I am keeping, as I have started to make a little income on that.

But, here's the biggie.... when I came across the day about Flippa and site selling, things happened. I was instantly attracted to this business model... I just love it, building, and then selling sites, similar to what I've done in the real estate market.

So I decide to build a seperate site, and sell that, which I did, for a little over $120 . I intend to do more of these, and slowly building on that. Then eventually buying and selling sites.

Seriously guys, this is my first success online, and its all thanks to the 30DC members posts, so thanks to you all, and to Ed, Caro, Michelle, GuruBob, Nez, Dan Raine, Pete... MS guys, and anyone I have missed out.

I have developed a skill now, which I will keep improving to go and become a massive success, which I intend to do, and its all because you guys have nudged me in the right direction.

Thank you all

Cheers!

Kiran

Hi TheWinner,

Really happy to hear about your success! I've only just started the challenge, but I was really interested by your post.

Just wondering, did you have any prior web design/dev experience? I got interested in web design about a month before coming across 30DC, but had no idea how I could make money off my sites. I would love to build some sites that I could maintain over the long run and make some revenue from, as well as niche sites that are purely for revenue.

However, I would like to see some more immediate returns as well, which is why your story got me psyched. I recently picked up XHTML and am still working on CSS, planning to finish and move onto scripting soon. If you didn't have any experience, my question is, how long did it take you to build a site? If you did have experience, how long do you think it would take a newbie like me? Also, do you just build sites and random and then try to sell them, or get a contract to build a site for someone (from your post it seems more like the former)?

Thanks.

Hey Neaz

I have got the most basic html knowledge only. Nothing special.

I haven't got any web development experience. Only building Wordpress blogs.

That's what I sold, a wordpress.org blog. There's so many things you can do with a wordpress.org blog, as a blog, static site etc etc.

Site flipping is a lucrative business model, f you like the sound of it, you go for it

If you need any more advice, just let us know.

thats awesome man. i love to hear success stories.

how does the site flipping work like. you create a site, lots of people go on it, and if you have lots of people on the site, your website is worth more, and you can sell it for money?

how do you increase traffic? i was thinking of hiring people to do the promotion for my website so i can make money on site flipping.

this is friggin awesome. i never knew you could have a business doing this stuff.
my friend has like 160,000$ net value of his websites.

Thanks for the info! My only other question is how much time did you spend building the site you sold; about how much content did you have on it?
