Thumbs up No.1 on day 8 of the Challenge with 1.270.000 competing pages

Hi to the genius teachers of THE 30DC and hi to all the other participants!

I am so excited right now.
I checked my google rankings last night and i was somewhere in the middle of page 2.

I just checked again 5 minutes ago and I am no1 for my main keyword now.
HOW COOL IS THAT???

But one thing is still weird. WPdirect won't show me any google results on the Website stats site.

Anyways. I am no 1.!

Thumbs up It will show up..

Give it some time.. Things don't always seem to populate as fast as we'd like them too. But Congrats on your ranking, that's Fantastic! Keep it up and keep us posted on your progress.
Cheers!

Good job, congrats
Don't get me wrong but your high rankings may be the result of your logged in google account, so if you are logged in while checking the rankings log out from your g-account and check again.

Question Logged into Google Effects Rankings? What?

Nikola-Japan,

Why would being logged into a Google account have any effect on stats or rankings? I have never heard this nor do I understand why it would make a difference. Could you please explain why you think this is so?

I'm curious now as I'm sure others are too...

Hi

Great result early on and one that I bet spurs you on. Don't be surprised if you drop way back out of there again. This tends to be the way with new sites. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be good to go. Not saying that will happen but it happened to me and many others. Just saying don't get carried away and expect to be in that position for good. You'll likely get bounced around all over the place over the coming weeks.

If you visited many times your site while you are logged in your google account it will rank higher, probably on top of the first page on google.

i ran into this with an 'seo client' of mine...

when they are logged out they are ranked ~43 (i brought them up from 65) ...
when they are logged in they are #2

Best answer i could give him was that google (when you are logged in) knows you are from saint louis, so you are probably getting a more local search result.

Honestly, I don't know if that's true ... I advised them to just keep with the articles / linking that i had taught them and that eventually they will rise the ranks...

but yes i have seen that before...

Search goog for "personalized search" to understand why you may see different rankings than everyone else.
