Congrats man!

I too am doing some web dev / SEO consulting on the side...

We've closed one project for over 1000 dollars and delivered it (just doing the final backup of the website and database before i turn everything over to the client) ... and we're signed on for another 1500 dollar project, with another 2 leads from referrals...etc

i've teamed up with an old buddy of mine that does great quality photo, video, and 3D virtual tours ... and the $$$ i've mentioned above are just for the web dev / social networking and rss feed linking / and the SEO research... he makes that much and more in media services.

we're targeting small businesses in our area (in his area actually i'm 10,000 miles away) and things are great.

There's a lot of VALUE in the 30DC process if you can wrap it up in a marketable package.

Congrats !!! and keep pushing forwards

Default Marketing package

If you don't mind me asking what type of marketing service are you offering these small companies? Does it require you to be engaged with the client a lot or are you selling them a package of information...a info product?

Good job mate.

If you are that type of person it's a no brainer to go out and help other businesses. It's still a swapping time for money approach though, are you planing on putting more energy back into and ineternet business?

Have you done sales before. From your posts I would say you have at some stage worked in sales?

This is fantastic! I plan to use my 30DC website as my "resume" piece. Make sure to document your website's success along the way so you can show that you're the real deal.

Onder- You're right about "it's who you know," but just so you know where I'm coming from....

....I don't have squat for a network. I have a little bit of business experience, but I did this in a new town where I only have exactly 2 good friends! No joke. lol

It works. All you have to do is get yourself in situations where you stumble into conversations with business owners. Focus all your attention on learning what they do to get new customers. Then, after you ask them questions, they will ask you what you do, and BAM, you're off and running.

It's crazy how well this works.

Try it!

My dad used to say that "It's not what you know, but who you know"
and i'm now starting to see why this is important.

If you have a strong network of people and you have skills to assist them, that in my opinion is a much better way to make money then to start form nothing...

After a while, you will get referred through word of mouth to others and success will happen naturally. You've got the ball rolling, so many congrats to you

Onder,
That's brill Seth - many congratulations - and what an inspiration!!
