On Not Giving Up...

I'm behind. Pretty far.

Now, some of you may have noticed my forum post a few weeks ago mentioning my rather painful, but necessary break up that happened on day 1 of the challenge, some of you may have missed it.

I took the following week to take it easy on myself. I still did the research and the occasional stab at thinking about anything but mourning a dead romance, but tended to wind up back in a funk.

However, I didn't let myself give up. I allowed myself to get behind, sure, but I was not giving up the challenge.

I'm still playing catch-up. But I'm still in the game, even more than ever, I should say. I've almost caught up all my real-life-work tasks, and have discovered that today, my new website in a niche that friends had prodded me to take-on is currently ranked in Google!

It wasn't last night. It is today.

I keep thinking back to the little statistic that most people give up around day six. Day six was the day when I re-dedicated myself to be the caboose on the little engine that could and chug my way to the finish line, no matter how many cars are in front of me.

Regardless of the outcome, or if I don't make my first dollar in this new niche until after the challenge - I'm proud of myself and any fellow challengers who through whatever hardships have pressed on. I know in my business coaching practice, those that take action are the victors among those who are "all talk."

So, congratulations to those of us who persevere!

At least you've realized that while the caboose arrives at the station a little later than the engine it DOES arrive and that's what's important
