Great Position Already

Launched my new Wordpress Direct blog yesterday afternoon. Used SocialMarker straight away.

This morning, for my chosen key phrase I was at 165 in Google.co.uk. This afternoon I'm at number 18!! Out of a competitive market place of 55,000 other sites.

Got a bit to go to get on the 1st page at number 1 but I'm staggered.

Somethings working.

Sorry for sounding ignorant but who actually reads all these blogs? Or is it a technique to fool the search engines to use in optimisation? If for example I want to get number one on Google for 'Tennis Information' how do I go about it?

I'm really pleased to already be ranked, although I moved from #6 to #11 (forgot to add a post yesterday). But I'm obviously doing something wrong (besides forgetting to post).

On the TDS Stats Tracker it says I have 120 clicks (4 are mine).

Yet, on Google Analytics it says I've only had ONE visitor.

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?
