I am curious what the moderators and current 30DC+ subscribers think might be appropriate. I am considering the 30DC+ program, but my 30DC blog was for a physical product (sold as an affiliate). So, taking what Ed suggest next, go big into the market with your own product, would that mean drop shipping as I can't inventory and manage a products business. Or, should I look at this from another angle? Also would 30DC+ be appropriate if the product is not a ebook or digital one?
Not sure where to go from here and I like to hear any thoughts? Wayne |

If you don't mind I will answer those questions in reverse order.
1. 30dc+ is appropriate if you are selling a digital product,( this includes ebooks) or a physical product, even a mailing list. If it is your own product or an affiliate product does not even matter, the process is the same. I would look try and find some related affiliate digital products to go with it and implement them on new page , sites , or posts . What is your market looking for..a product or information? You can can tie these together. My experience has been digital (information related to your niche brings money to your home faster. Sell the affiliate products, I myself have lots of ideas and notes for my own product but have not sectioned out the time to do them. I do go to school and take notes(30dc+) however for when I am ready. 3. 30 DC+ does have a focus on creating your products, the marketplaces, optimization in many forms of media(your own product or not, the process does work), But 30dc+ is not limited . Some of the most basic questions will be answered here on this forum, as well as advanced discussion and techniques and new developments from the 30dc+ team. P.S. I would not jump out with my own product affiliate products if I could not sell some affiliate products (it's a form of testing) Stay active in the forums.. I want to hear from you. You might learn something new to share with us all. Members help members! P.S.S. I would also listen to Internet Marketing This Week, Very Cool podcast Internet Marketing Podcast With Paul Colligan, Ed Dale, Michelle Macphearson and Lynn Terry Last edited by abtmc; 10-13-2009 at 12:10 AM. |

As Brian says, 30DC+ is about how to do internet marketing and while there may be small differences in the details, all the principals apply to any business.
As for how to "go big" with physical products, there are many ways to do that. For example, there are order fulfillment services where you buy your inventory from a manufacturer or distributor and have it shipped to a fulfillment warehouse. The fulfillment guys warehouse and ship your products for you. It's your stuff, but you don't have to handle it. There are also deals where you use a type of shopping cart software that is really a front end into some other guy's business. Sort of like an affiliate deal, but it all happens on your site. The other guy handles all the order processing, but from a visitor's point of view, it is all happening on your site. It is also often possible to cut deals with brick and mortar guys in your market. Setting up your own shopping cart and a merchant account for credit card processing isn't that tough. You could then get a "reseller" account with a brick and mortar guy and buy at a discount and have him dropship for you. You really should look at your options from every possible angle and decide what it best for you. Marketing is marketing. The challenges are the same no matter what kind of business you're in. In most respects selling on the net is the same as selling in a store. You need to get people in the store (traffic), you need them to buy something once they are there (conversion), you need them to come back later and buy more stuff (building customer relationships). The 30DC+ helps you do those things and those are the things that always matter. |
